Penelope....

Day 24: A Movie You Never Expected Yourself To Love

When I first saw the description for the movie Penelope, I thought that it sounded dumb and that I would NEVER want to watch it.
But I turned it on anyways.
I have no idea why.
I guess I was just curious if it was any good or not.
I watched the first couple of minutes and was instantly intrigued.
So I kept watching.
And by the middle of the movie, I was in love with the characters and just HAD to know what was going to happen.
By the end of the movie, it was on my list of all-time favorite movies.
I never expected to like it.
I never expected to love it.
But I do.
And I could watch it over and over.
Especially with James McAvoy in it.
I think he just makes the movie all the better.
If you don't know who he is, he played Mr. Tumnus in Narnia.
He was cool in that, but he's awesome in Penelope.
Yeah.
So I loved that movie.

Loveeee

Day 25: A Way in Which You Want to Be Remembered

This one is a hard one. How will I be remembered? What will people think of when they think of me when I'm gone? I hate the thought of no longer being on this earth, but it will happen.

First and foremost, I hope to be remembered as a person who truly loves the Lord and did everything for His glory. I want people to think of me and KNOW that I'm in Heaven with my Lord and Savior and have no doubts in their minds.

I also want to be remembered as a person who loved others. Someone who looked at people for who they were, and loved them anyway.

I want to be remembered as a good friend. Yes, there have been falling outs between friends, but who hasn't had those? I want people to look back and say that they knew I was there for them at some point in their lives.

Ashen Sky {Life}

Day 22: A Website

There are so many websites that I could suggest to my blogger friends that I go to constantly! But of course, there is not enough room for all of that.

  1. Ashen Sky {Books}
This is a blog that Sky and I started together, to write about our authoring and what's going on in our stories. If you haven't visited the blog, please do so!
  2. Orli Online Magazine
This is an online magazine that my friend Ali started and asked me to write for right off the bat. The first issue is going to be coming out this Spring and I can't wait for it to come out and see how everything's going to work! I'm enjoying my writing for this magazine!
  3. Kids of Faith Online
This is another online magazine that I write for. I've been writing for this one for a couple of years now and really enjoy it! Sky started this one and I write both music article and an article about {Shining Stars} - Christian music artists who are shining their lives for Jesus.
  4. Facebook
  5. Twitter
Those are the websites that I go to the most, spend most of my time on.

28 Day Blog Challenge: Day 20

Day 20: Something You Know You Do Differently Than Most People

I've heard that, as a girl from Pennsylvania Dutch Country, I speak differently than a lot of other people in the world. I've given some of my accent over to some of my friends, Sky even says that she started saying things like I do! :P Here are a couple of things about PA, it'll help you to understand me a little better.

You Know You're From Pennsylvania When....

You've never referred to Philadelphia as anything but "Philly." And New Jersey has always been "Jersey."

You refer to Pennsylvania as "PA."

"You guys" is a perfectly acceptable reference to a group of men & women.

You know how to respond to the question "Djeetyet?" (Didyoueatyet?)

You can use the phrase "fire hall wedding reception" and not even bat an eye.

Words like "hoagie", "crick", "chipped ham", "sticky buns", "shoo-fly pie", "pierogies" and "pocketbook" actually mean something to you.

You know several places to purchase or that serve Scrapple, Summer Sausage (Lebanon Bologna), and Hot Bacon Dressing.

You know exactly what to do when your mother tells you to "red up" your room.

You think very little of an Amish buggy on the road.

You learned long ago how to "step carefully" around the buggy tie-ups in the supermarket parking lot.

You can go 2 weeks in winter without sunshine and think this is normal.

You not only have heard of Birch Beer, but you know that it comes in several colors: Red, Blue, White, Brown, Gold.

You know what REAL potpie is.

You ask the waitress for "dippy eggs" for breakfast.

You can stop along the road to buy fruits, vegetables, or crafts on the "honor system."

YOUR turkey has "filling," not "stuffing," and most certainly, NOT "dressing."

You say things like, "I'm calling off today," and "They're calling for snow."

Hearing horses clopping down a paved street doesn't bring you to the window to see what's going on outside.

You prefer Hershey's Chocolate to Godiva.

School closings due to snow take the radio stations a half an hour to finish, because just about every town has its own school district.

Frequently go "with," e.g., "You going to the market? Mind if I come with?"

Refer to something as "a whole nother," e.g., "That's a whole nother issue."
